Project details
On Friday, June 5, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsatorn Palee, Deputy Director of the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology, attended a meeting to discuss collaborative guidelines for the development of the "Bang Pakong Basin Center of Excellence in Thai Traditional Medicine, Health Wisdom, and Wellness (Pho Bang Pakong Excellence Center)."
The meeting was held at the conference room of Wat Saman Rattanaram Hospital in Chachoengsao Province.
The meeting was honored by the presence of executives from Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, led by the President of the University, along with Phra Ratchawachiraprachanat (Pairat Panyatharo), the Abbot of Wat Saman Rattanaram and the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chachoengsao (Dhammayuttika Nikaya). Representatives from the Nation-Building Institute (NBI), faculty members, academics, and relevant network partners also participated to exchange views and establish collaborative frameworks for the sustainable development of healthcare, education, and local communities.
Attendees jointly presented the vision and developmental approaches to establish the "Pho Bang Pakong Excellence Center" as the Eastern Region's knowledge hub for Thai traditional medicine, health wisdom, Thai herbs, Thai massage, elderly care, healthy diets, and holistic wellness promotion. The initiative aims to seamlessly integrate teaching and learning, research, academic services, and local development.
Phra Ratchawachiraprachanat graciously provided insights and guidance on preserving Thai wisdom and utilizing cultural, religious, and community capital as a foundation for improving public health. Furthermore, he expressed his support for building a robust collaborative network among temples, educational institutions, the public sector, and various partner organizations to generate tangible benefits for society.
Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University ultimately aims to develop the "Pho Bang Pakong Excellence Center" into a regional center of excellence in Thai traditional medicine, health wisdom, and wellness. This endeavor is designed to bridge foundational knowledge with the development of the Wellness Economy, thereby sustainably elevating the quality of life for the people in the Eastern Region.
